63 Reasons to Stop Smoking

63 Reasons to Stop Smoking

Today I will be making a post a little bit different from the usual. It’s not that I’m for or against the tobacco industry, it’s just that during the months that I’ve been working on TutorArt, even before that I’ve encountered a few of these images that I’ll be posting today. Some of which have been publicized and others not, but have a look at them and think twice before you light up your next cigarette. This is dedicated for the people that are trying to quit smoking, or are thinking of quitting. Hopefully this will serve as an inspiration and a big motivation for you all.

i wish smokers wouldn’t have to take this bullshit. it’s our choice, non- and anti-smokers stop trying to come to conclusions and make decisions in our stead, as long as we make steps not to inconvenience them with our habit.

02.09.10

Dear Korts, I’m also a smoker and I don’t see a big issue with these posts. They are merely small campaigns that helps the people that are already considering to stop smoking. I don’t want to offend in any way smokers, but if that but if that’s the idea that it’s transmiting, I sincerely apologize and thank you for your opinion and your contribution. Thanks a lot.

02.09.10

There’s no need to apologize, and I understand in part the reasoning behind these campaigns–I just hear the same reasoning applied to me practically every day, even though I make it clear every time that I’m not considering quitting at all, and it’s increasingly frustrating that non-smokers either think that I’m the devil or that I’m a smoker by necessity, that somehow I’m forced into smoking by something beyond my control.

Yes, smoking “causes” death, but non-smokers die in similarly prosaic ways. This crusade is getting tiresome, and even the campaigns intended to help people who want to quit only fuel the general prejudice against smokers.

I think what better to stop smoking using next scheme.
1. Lower amount of dangeroues components in tobacco switching to e-cigarettes.
2. Read Allen Karr book ‘Easiest way to stop smoking’ (good book really, using NLP methods to quit smoking) and decide final quit smoking date.
3. At first time better to using some dietary supplements to stay calm for example without cigarettes.
4. Find support group, because so easy to start smoking again. You really need support, because so many peoples smoking around!

Found this by way of Andrew Sullivan’s blog at The Atlantic

http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/

Some amazing, imaginative images here. I’m an ex-smoker, and I’ve also (at the risk of appearing self-aggrandising and/or opportunistic), written an anti-smoking book. It’s satiric, and seeks to engage the smokers who are bored to tears with being preached at.

It’s called 50 Reasons To Quit Smoking/50 Reasons to Keep Smoking. Depending on which way up you hold the book, you get a different cover and a different 50 reasons…

You can check it out at my website – http://www.fionascottnorman.com.au

Sweet.

Not all these ads are paid for by the state but some are. There is a large one paid for by taxpayers about 50m from where I am sat right now in Bristol, UK.

It drives me MAD. Smokers benefit society. They contribute a lot in tax and then die quickly before taking much in pension. (It’s cold-hearted but true.)

Why then, are governments spending money to tell people things THEY ALREADY KNOW with the hope that the money spent will result in less revenue for the government. It’s insane.

Yes this is true.

nice job! i do hope this people has learned and be alarmed on what they so called habits. They are not only harming themselves, by just inhaling their smoke can give other people different kinds of sicknesses. I have a friend who hate smoking but died in carcinoma. My mother who’s a chain smoker died from lung cancer and just lately my daughter whom I took care so much absolutely not smoking just passed away from two types of acute leukemia.
There are almost 80 cancer causing chemicals came from tobacco/cigar smoking and those might feed and triggered my child’s cancer cells…all of us has these cancer cells and when feed-thats it.
